Karim Benzema is 26 today. The forward joined Real Madrid in the 2009/10 season and has stood out since for the Whites for his vision, technique and a considerable number of goals. He has scored at least 20 goals in each of the past three seasons and has helped to secure a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup.

Benzema was born on 19th December 1987 in Lyon (France) and made his top flight debut for Olympique Lyon. His Real Madrid debut came on 29th August 2009 against Deportivo la Coruña and his first goal came shortly after, on 20th September at the Santiago Bernabéu against Xerez.

Before joining Real Madrid he had a brilliant start to his career at Olympique Lyon, where he was the top scorer in the French league in 2007/08. This season he has 10 goals in all competitions and scored the last goal in the 4-0 win against Valladolid.
